Q: I don’t have a mic or don’t want to speak. Is it okay if I just join to listen and learn?
A: Absolutely! This event is entirely free and everyone is welcome to join.
Q: What’s the purpose of reading through screenplays from the Blacklist?
A: If you want to become a skilled screenwriter, you’ve got to read tons of pro scripts, especially recent popular unproduced scripts. And as you read thrillers, comedies, horror, action, dramas, etc, you’ll internalize the story structure, tension, action description and dialogue that is considered to be at the highest level of the craft by many industry professionals. The blacklist is an annual list of unproduced spec screenplays voted as “most liked” by creative execs, literary agents, producers, managers and assistants. Conor recommends to read as many of these as you can, ideally three each week.
